Kiwoom Heroes’ Lee Ju-hyung Suffers Immediate Setback With Hamstring Pain
Seoul, South Korea – Just one month after rejoining the first-team roster, outfielder Lee Ju-hyung of the Kiwoom Heroes has once again been forced out of a game due to a hamstring injury. The incident occurred during the home game against the KIA Tigers at Gocheok Sky Dome on the 25th, where Lee was scheduled to bat second.
Early Exit After First Plate Appearance
Lee stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the first inning with one out. He faced the opposing starter, James Naile, and took a pitch that resulted in a ground out to left field. However, the situation took a turn for the worse shortly after.
Lee was substituted out of the game for Im Byung-wook, who took over the crucial center field position. This early exit, after just a single at-bat, has raised concerns about a recurring injury. According to team officials, Lee experienced pain in his right hamstring during his run to first base in the bottom of the first inning, leading to his immediate substitution.
Further Evaluation Pending
The Kiwoom Heroes organization stated that they will monitor Lee’s condition closely before deciding on whether further medical examinations, including a hospital visit, will be necessary. This latest setback adds to a history of hamstring issues for the young player.
Managerial Concerns Over Playing Style
Prior to the game, Kiwoom manager Hong Se-wan had expressed his concerns about Lee’s tendency to play at full sprint even on routine ground balls. “He often goes all out on every ground ball, which is commendable in its own way. But right now, his body isn’t in the best condition. I’ve strictly told him that it’s okay to run a bit slower on routine hits when he’s not at his peak,” Hong Se-wan explained.
Despite these discussions and Lee’s return to the lineup, the unfortunate reality is that he has been sidelined again by injury before even completing a full plate appearance. The team and fans alike will be hoping for a swift and full recovery.
