A woman in her 40s was taken into emergency custody after allegedly ramming a police vehicle while her 8-year-old daughter was in the car. The incident occurred in Ichon, Gyeonggi Province, on July 12th.
Suspect Evaded Traffic Stop
According to the Ichon Police Station, the woman, identified as Ms. A, was apprehended and taken to the hospital. The events unfolded around 1:40 PM when officers attempted to stop Ms. A’s vehicle on a road in Bubal-eup, Ichon City. Ms. A, who was driving with her daughter, reportedly refused to comply with the officers’ orders to stop.
The situation escalated when Ms. A, after an apparent argument with her husband, had driven off with her daughter. Earlier that day, around 12:10 PM, her husband had contacted the police expressing concern for their child’s safety.
Confrontation and Arrest
Responding officers located Ms. A’s vehicle and repeatedly instructed her to pull over. When she failed to comply, they used a patrol car to block her path, preventing her from moving forward or backward. Despite this, Ms. A is accused of repeatedly ramming the police vehicle in an attempt to escape.
After a standoff lasting approximately one hour, officers forcibly broke the car window and apprehended Ms. A. She was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the hospital.
