Singer Yeongtak has amplified the appeal of his third full-length album, ‘GOGO,’ with special content designed to offer a unique listening experience. He released a video titled ‘Drive with My Playlist’ on his official YouTube channel on September 22nd. This video serves as a guide for fans to enjoy the ‘GOGO’ album in a fresh way, featuring Yeongtak himself driving and listening to the entire album, sharing what he calls a ‘sweet tip’ with his audience.
An Immersive Album Journey
The approximately 35-minute video meticulously walks through the entire tracklist of the ‘GOGO’ album from start to finish. It begins with the first track, ‘Penguin,’ and progresses through ‘Psycho World,’ ‘Doshirasolmi-fado,’ ‘Kkeok-eo,’ ‘Bintijeo-love,’ ‘Heo-Heo (虛虛),’ ‘Old Radio,’ ‘The Weather is So Nice,’ ‘Temporary Storage,’ ‘Can’t Sleep Tonight,’ ‘VIDA LOCA,’ and concludes with ‘PACEMAKER.’ The video captures Yeongtak’s enjoyment of the music as he drives, culminating in his arrival at the destination.
Dressed in comfortable casual wear, including sunglasses, a hat, and a t-shirt, Yeongtak created a relaxed atmosphere, as if embarking on a drive with his fans. He was seen singing along to the songs from ‘Penguin’ to ‘PACEMAKER’ and grooving to the rhythm, completely immersed in the music. A particularly engaging moment occurred during the title track, ‘Kkeok-eo,’ where Yeongtak performed a hand-washing gesture in sync with the lyrics, significantly heightening the excitement.
Throughout the drive, Yeongtak’s unscripted interactions added a touch of humor. He spoke as if someone were in the passenger seat, remarking, “The weather is nice. Look at the sea,” eliciting smiles from viewers. Upon reaching the destination, he exclaimed, “We’re here!” concluding the content with a playful flourish.
‘GOGO’ Album: A Blend of Music and Drive
What stands out is the opportunity to experience the entire ‘GOGO’ album over the 35-minute runtime, alongside Yeongtak’s natural demeanor. The content is structured to allow listeners to enjoy the album as a cohesive playlist, seamlessly blending the moods of the music and the drive. This approach effectively highlights the album’s unique charm.
‘GOGO,’ Yeongtak’s third full-length album, was released approximately three years after his second full-length album, ‘FORM,’ in August 2023. The album’s central message, “What if you move a little differently than expected?” is conveyed through Yeongtak’s distinctive musical style. Out of the 12 tracks included, Yeongtak directly participated in the writing, composing, and arranging of 11 songs, excluding ‘Can’t Sleep Tonight,’ showcasing his capabilities as a singer-songwriter.
The album explores a wide range of genres, including punk, rock, ballad, trot, and country, demonstrating an expanded musical spectrum. The ‘Drive with My Playlist’ video further reinforces the album’s suitability for actual driving experiences, underscoring its versatility.
Commercial Success and Live Performances
Following its release, ‘GOGO’ has also seen considerable success on music charts and in live performances. Yeongtak actively promoted the title track ‘Kkeok-eo’ on major music shows like KBS 2TV’s ‘Music Bank,’ MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core,’ and SBS’s ‘Inkigayo.’ He also garnered attention through various challenges with other artists.
The album’s success extends beyond broadcast performances. According to the Hanteo Chart’s weekly chart for the third week of September 2026, released on September 21st at 10 PM, ‘GOGO’ secured the number one spot on the weekly album chart with 315,200.72 points for album index and 303,724 copies sold. In the weekly World Chart, it ranked second with a World index of 11,590.02 points, confirming a successful comeback.
Continuing his active promotions with the third full-length album ‘GOGO,’ Yeongtak is set to connect with fans through a solo concert in October. The concert series, titled ‘TAK SHOW5,’ will commence at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul from October 3rd to 5th, marking the beginning of a nationwide tour. Following the Seoul performances, the tour will extend to Jeonju (October 24-25), Daegu (November 28-29), Incheon (December 19-20), and Busan (January 16-17 of the following year).
