New Headquarters for Major Crimes Investigation Unit Selected
The preparatory team for the establishment of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Major Crimes Investigation Agency has finalized its decision to locate the main office and Seoul branch within the Lotteville building in Jung-gu, Seoul. This announcement was made on the 24th.
The preparatory team determined that a dedicated floor would be most suitable for the agency’s operations, aligning with the planned separation of investigative and prosecutorial functions. This decision followed a thorough assessment of potential civilian-owned buildings, prioritizing accessibility and security. Site inspections were conducted as part of the selection process.
Operational Readiness and Future Plans
With the necessary budget secured, the agency plans to promptly establish its office space and construct essential facilities. The preparatory team also intends to swiftly select two locations for regional branch offices.
