Busan is offering a comprehensive “Ocean Healing Tourism Program” throughout October, providing residents and visitors with unique opportunities to de-stress and rejuvenate by the sea. The initiative, which began in May, runs every weekend until the end of October, combining the city’s natural coastal resources with local culture.
Embracing the Sea for Well-being
The program aims to offer a tranquil escape from the demands of daily life. Participants can immerse themselves in the refreshing ocean air and gentle sounds of the waves, finding a sense of peace and healing. Early morning sessions on the beach, featuring activities like yoga and Pilates, allow individuals to connect with nature and their inner selves.
Diverse Programs for Every Need
This year’s program features four distinct activities:
- Beach Yoga: Held on weekend mornings, this program focuses on calming the mind and body through yoga poses on the sand.
- Sunset Pilates: Participants can enjoy Pilates sessions as the sun sets, taking in the beautiful coastal scenery.
- Ocean Running: This program offers a chance to invigorate the body through running with the ocean as a backdrop.
- Sound Lounge: A new addition for this year, the Sound Lounge utilizes the resonant sounds and vibrations of a “singing bowl” to promote deep relaxation and sensory engagement.
In addition to these core offerings, the city is also running other therapeutic programs such as “Sound Walking” and various day-trip and overnight “Body Type Tourism Programs.” Sound Walking involves exploring natural environments while using specialized equipment to capture and amplify the sounds of nature, enhancing sensory perception.
Program Details and Registration
Each program is designed for small groups of up to 30 participants. The participation fee is 10,000 won per session. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and can be completed through the official Busan Ocean Healing website, BusanOceanHealing.kr.
