Investigation Launched into Allegations of Child Abuse at Kindergarten
Educational authorities in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, have initiated a formal investigation following serious allegations of sexual misconduct involving a six-year-old student at a local kindergarten. Reports indicate that the parents of a young girl claim a male classmate in her class sexually assaulted her within the school premises, resulting in injuries.
Parents Detail Allegations and Kindergarten’s Response
According to the victim’s mother, the incident occurred on the evening of the 26th. The child reportedly told her parents that a boy from her class touched her private parts with his fingers, causing pain. A subsequent medical examination confirmed the presence of injuries and bruises.
The parents further allege that this is not the first instance of problematic behavior from the accused boy. They claim he had previously harassed their daughter and even followed her into the restroom. The parents expressed dissatisfaction with the school’s handling of the situation, asserting that the institution did not take appropriate measures to address the reported incidents.
When the parents raised concerns with teachers and the kindergarten principal, they reportedly received an inadequate response and perceived a lack of urgency from the school administration.
Educational Authorities Take Action
Upon receiving the report, the Kaohsiung City Education Bureau has mandated that the kindergarten implement immediate child protection measures and provide counseling support to the affected child. The bureau has also established an investigative committee comprised of experts, educators, and legal professionals. This committee is tasked with verifying the facts of the case and is expected to submit its findings within one month.
