Early Voting Sees Strong Participation
The second day of early voting for the 9th National Simultaneous Local Elections and National Assembly By-elections has recorded a national average turnout of 13.35% as of 9 AM on the 30th. This figure indicates a significant increase in voter engagement compared to the previous election.
According to the Central Election Management Commission, out of a total of 44,649,908 eligible voters, 5,959,952 individuals had cast their ballots by 9 AM today. This represents a 1.54 percentage point increase over the turnout recorded at the same time on the second day of early voting for the 8th National Simultaneous Local Elections in 2022, which stood at 11.81%.
Early Voting Details
Early voting commenced yesterday at 6 AM and will continue nationwide until 6 PM today at designated early voting stations. Eligible voters can cast their ballots at any early voting station across the country, regardless of their registered address. To vote, individuals must present a physical identification document that includes their photograph, such as a resident registration card, driver’s license, or passport.
Mobile identification is also acceptable, provided that the user’s identity can be verified through a dedicated application. It is important to note that captured images of identification documents or screenshots will not be accepted as valid proof of identity.
