Police questioned HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk for a 3rd time on Wednesday over suspicions of violating the Monetary Funding Companies and Capital Markets Act.
The monetary crime unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Company mentioned that it was questioning Bang as a suspect on Wednesday morning. It’s his third spherical of questioning, following two public summons in September.
Bang is suspected of deceptive buyers in 2019 by falsely claiming there have been no plans for HYBE — then referred to as Large Hit Leisure — to go public, then promoting a stake to a personal fairness fund. When the label started making ready for an preliminary public providing (IPO), the fund offered its shares, and Bang reportedly acquired round 190 billion received ($131 million) in income from the sale below a prearranged settlement.
Police are carefully analyzing Bang’s assertion, the stream of funds across the IPO and the construction of the settlement.
