Zohran Mamdani’s win within the New York Metropolis mayoral race comes after a trailblazing marketing campaign that resonated with left-leaning supporters far past the town shores.
The democratic socialist, who centered his marketing campaign on insurance policies concentrating on affordability, didn’t draw back from highlighting his cross-cultural upbringing as an American Muslim of Indian descent born in Uganda. He thanked voters together with “Yemeni bodega homeowners,” “Senegalese taxi drivers,” “Uzbek nurses,” “Trinidadian line cooks” and “Ethiopian aunties” in his victory speech.
