Explosion Details and Initial Response
The devastating blast occurred on October 1st at Hanwha Aerospace’s plant in Oesam-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. The incident took place in Building 56, which is responsible for the dismantling and cleaning of components such as spent munitions and valves. At the time of the explosion, five workers were on-site and tragically lost their lives, with two others sustaining injuries.
