Kim Na-young Shares Heartwarming Story of Mother-in-Law’s Gift
Broadcaster Kim Na-young has revealed the touching circumstances under which she received a diamond ring from her mother-in-law. In a recent video uploaded to her YouTube channel, ‘Kim Na-young’s NofilterTV,’ titled ‘I’m Revealing the Accessories I’ve Collected for 20 Years!’, Kim showcased a collection of accessories she has amassed over two decades. Among the items featured was a diamond ring, a gift from her mother-in-law.
A Generous Gift with a Deep History
Kim recounted the moment she received the ring, explaining, “I received it when I went to my mother-in-law’s house for a meal. It was the second time I visited. She suddenly took out this ring and said she had bought it a long time ago. She told me, ‘It seems like you are destined to be the owner of this ring.'” The ring fit perfectly on Kim’s slender fingers, adding to the sentimental value of the gesture.
Smiling, Kim added, “I think my mother-in-law might have thought of me as a close friend.” She then delved deeper into the ring’s significance, sharing, “This ring has a story. After getting married, my mother-in-law took the diamond from her wedding ring to fund her younger sibling’s wedding. She lived without her wedding ring until their financial situation improved, and she was able to get this new ring. She told me that when she bought this ring, she made a promise to herself, thinking, ‘I shouldn’t wear this myself; I should give it to the child who will become my daughter-in-law.’ This was something that happened decades ago.” This revelation highlighted the ring’s profound meaning and the enduring love and foresight of her mother-in-law.
Kim Na-young, who is raising her two daughters as a single mother following her divorce, remarried in 2025 to singer and influencer Kang Kyu-sung.
