Singer Shinji, who previously revealed a significant weight loss due to stress following her marriage, is now facing a new health challenge: inflammation in her thumb joints. She recently shared an update on her condition, sparking concern among her fans.
Shinji’s Health Updates: From Weight Loss to Joint Pain
In a recent YouTube video titled “Introducing Shinji’s New Family Member!” posted on her channel ‘Eotteoshinji,’ Shinji introduced her new pet dog, Cookie. The video offered a glimpse into her daily life, showcasing Cookie’s obedience and Shinji’s enjoyment of training the new addition to her family. However, amidst the heartwarming scenes, Shinji disclosed her ongoing health struggles.
Shinji explained that she is currently undergoing treatment for inflammation in her thumb joints, which is significantly impacting her daily activities. “My thumb joints have become inflamed, and I’ve been told I absolutely cannot use my thumb for two weeks,” she stated. She recounted how the pain began suddenly, initially dismissing it as a minor issue. “One day, my hand just started hurting, but I thought it would be fine. When I went to the hospital, they told me there was inflammation in the joint,” she recalled.
The singer described the treatment process, which involved numerous injections. She noted the distress this caused not only to her but also to her husband and the nurses. “I’ve had so many injections. I didn’t even look, but the nurses and my husband were almost in tears. I heard some people faint just watching injections,” she shared, highlighting the intensity of the experience.
Impact on Daily Life and Past Health Concerns
The inflammation has made it difficult for Shinji to use her thumb properly, leading to inconveniences in her everyday life. She mentioned her desire to tend to her front garden, a plan that has been repeatedly postponed due to her condition. “I originally wanted to decorate the front garden, but I haven’t been able to yet. My husband offered to do it, but I insisted on doing it myself, so it keeps getting delayed,” she explained.
Shinji also confessed that she had been enduring the pain for some time before seeking medical attention. “It hurt when I washed, and it hurt when I signed autographs, but I just endured it, thinking it would get better,” she said. She vividly recalled the night before her hospital visit, when the pain became unbearable. “The night before I went to the hospital, it hurt so much that I told my husband. He turned on the light and looked at my hand, and it was swollen and protruding. He scolded me, asking why I hadn’t said anything sooner,” she recounted.
Currently, Shinji is focusing on recovery through daily hot water massages and applying compresses. “These days, I’m recovering by getting hot water massages and applying compresses every day,” she reported.
Previous Struggle with Significant Weight Loss
This is not the first time Shinji has raised concerns about her health. Previously, through her YouTube channel, she openly discussed her physical condition after her marriage. At that time, she revealed a drastic weight loss, stating, “I lost a lot of weight after getting married. My body wasn’t doing well, and I lost an abnormal amount of weight.” This revelation had worried her fans.
Shinji, who is 164 cm tall, shared that her weight had dropped to as low as 42.9 kg. “My weight went down to 43kg. I even saw it at 42.9kg,” she said. “I kept losing weight even though I was eating well.” She attributed this significant weight loss to mental stress, explaining, “Mental stress is directly related to dieting,” thereby explaining the background of her decreased body weight and causing concern among her supporters.
Fan Support and Well Wishes
Following the news of her thumb joint inflammation and its impact on her activities, fans have rallied around Shinji, sending messages of support. Many expressed their hope for her swift recovery, urging her not to overexert herself. Comments included wishes like, “Please take care of your health first,” and “I hope you recover fully without pushing yourself too hard.” The outpouring of encouragement reflects the deep care and concern her fanbase holds for her well-being.
