A fire erupted early Wednesday morning in an apartment building in Seoul’s Yangcheon-gu Mokdong neighborhood, resulting in two fatalities and several injuries.

Emergency calls reported the blaze at 10:11 a.m. from the second floor of the multi-story complex, which houses approximately 30 households per floor and around 80 residents. Firefighters contained and fully extinguished the flames by 10:52 a.m., roughly 40 minutes after arrival.
Casualties and Rescue Efforts
Two residents sustained severe injuries during the incident and later succumbed in the hospital. Six others were rescued by emergency teams, while three managed to evacuate independently. No additional injuries have been confirmed.
