K-pop artist So Yu recently sustained a waist injury after falling on an escalator during a business trip for her upcoming mini album. She shared the details in a YouTube video titled “Is the new mini album Off Hours happening?” on her channel.
Details of the Incident
While scouting locations for promotional materials for her new mini album Off Hours, So Yu enjoyed a meal of bossam before heading to an escalator. Carrying her luggage, she lost her footing and tumbled, resulting in significant pain centered on her waist.
Initially cautious about showing her distressed expression due to her pale complexion, So Yu appeared more composed after two hours in the footage. She underwent a CT scan, which confirmed the injury affected only one side without internal bleeding.
So Yu’s Account
So Yu described the ordeal, stating, “It hurt so much. Even falls while running on the road don’t compare. I took a cab immediately upon arriving at the location. I considered appearing on After Mom, but other ideas emerged. The CT results showed it’s one-sided pain.”
She added, “It’s not deep—superficial and okay overall.”
Recent Activities
Earlier this year in April, So Yu released her mini album Off Hours with the title track “Girl,” marking her active return to music promotions. She now focuses on absolute rest to ensure full recovery.
