Korean women’s badminton national team players delivered standout performances in the women’s doubles exchange and individual sponsorship events at the 31st Uber Cup World Women’s Team Championships.
The competition took place on the 11th at the Westin Leithip Hotel in Iksan-si, where players heightened the event’s excitement and elevated their profiles through impressive results.
Sponsorship Prizes Total 1.044 Billion Won
The Korean Badminton Association distributed a total of 1.044 billion won in sponsorship prizes directly to the players’ personal accounts, along with physical awards during the ceremony.
Sponsor Yonex provided substantial prize money, while Lepilab offered recruitment incentives and additional prizes, recognizing the national team players’ outstanding achievements.

Association Chairman Kim Dong-mun highlighted the success, stating, “This Uber Cup exceeded expectations, with players uniting as one team to deliver a valuable achievement.”
Players Reflect on Team Spirit
Team captain Lee So-hee expressed satisfaction, noting, “The players show greater pride than before, with no special treatment for anyone. It’s a good result because everyone united as one team aiming for gold.”
An Se-young added, “There was a burden as the top player who needed to win first, but the team provided immense courage from behind. Personally, I felt more focused and responsible, fostering stronger team spirit.”

Coach Park Joo-bong commended the efforts, saying, “An Se-young dominated the first singles, and Kim Ga-eun secured a crucial victory in the deciding third singles match, boosting the team’s momentum.”
He emphasized, “Even the Asian Games squad can achieve strong results.”
