Actress Go Joon-hee Addresses “Fake Eating” Accusations
Actress Go Joon-hee has directly addressed allegations of fake eating following a recent viral video showcasing her consuming four bowls of ramen. The star expressed her frustration with the accusations, clarifying the events during a recent YouTube broadcast.
A Culinary Adventure to Gwangjang Market
The video, uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Go Joon-hee GO’ with the title ‘Go Joon-hee Challenges New Record at a Ramen House Visited by Jjyang-nim,’ captured the actress preparing for an outing. “I’m going somewhere nice today. I’m excited to eat something delicious,” she shared, her anticipation evident.
Her destination was a renowned ramen establishment in Gwangjang Market. Go Joon-hee explained her long-held desire to visit the popular spot. “I tried to come once before, but I couldn’t because it wasn’t on the schedule then. I really wanted to come after seeing videos of Jjyang-nim’s visit,” she stated.
A Ramen Challenge Begins
Upon arriving at the restaurant, Go Joon-hee was visibly impressed by the variety of ramen on display. “I really wanted to come here,” she exclaimed, her excitement palpable before diving into a hearty meal.
The atmosphere intensified when her manager confidently declared, “She eats more than three bowls.” This prompted Go Joon-hee to playfully accept the challenge, remarking, “He’s showing off his eating pride to me. Shall we have a go at it?” The challenge quickly turned into a spontaneous eating contest.
When asked if she would eat until she was full, Go Joon-hee responded with a relaxed demeanor, “I eat as much as I can. I haven’t set a limit.”
Disputing the “Fake Eating” Narrative
The production team brought up past instances where Go Joon-hee had reportedly finished four bowls of ramen, noting fan requests for her to replicate the feat. While acknowledging the possibility of doubt, she expressed her dismay at specific comments. “Looking at the comments, there were even discussions about whether I stopped midway,” she revealed, her frustration evident.
To further emphasize her commitment to the meal, she added, “I don’t drink the ramen broth.” This lighthearted remark drew laughter from viewers.
A Continuous Feast
Go Joon-hee stressed the importance of consuming the ramen in one continuous sitting. “This needs to be done in one go, one cut. You can’t stop. You might be misunderstood,” she emphasized, drawing a line under the fake eating accusations.
The table was soon laden with a variety of ramen, starting with spicy ramen, followed by jajangmyeon, and bibimmyeon. Go Joon-hee, focused on the task at hand, declared, “When you’re eating, you have to concentrate on eating, not on conversation,” before fully immersing herself in the meal.
As the ramen continued to arrive, the manager began to show signs of fatigue. However, Go Joon-hee maintained a relaxed pace. The manager admitted, “I didn’t eat anything since this morning to try and beat you today,” but ultimately conceded defeat, stating, “Three bowls are my limit.”
Despite finishing four bowls, Go Joon-hee contemplated a fifth, showing no signs of being overwhelmed. “If it were Shin Ramyun, I think I could have gone for five. I don’t feel like my stomach is going to burst yet. I’m about 60-70% full,” she commented, though ultimately opted to tour the market instead of ordering more.
Background on Weight and Height
In a previous broadcast last year, Go Joon-hee shared that she had successfully lost 3kg, reaching a weight of 55kg. Her reported height is 173cm, with a weight of 55kg.
