The Korea Natural Disaster Association has announced the launch of the 2nd Great Republic of Korea Climate, Disaster, and Environment Art Public Contest. Officials aim to boost public awareness on climate change, disaster safety, environmental protection, and related issues through this initiative.
Contest Categories and Structure
Participants can submit works in categories including Korean painting, Western painting, digital art, watercolor, and folk painting. The event divides into two phases: the first half features entries announced by government agencies, while the second phase includes others.
Awards cover one grand prize, two minor prizes, and three excellence awards. Winners receive honors such as the energy and environment department chief award, public safety chief award, product awards, special selections, and admission awards from the Korea Arts Association and the association president. The submission period runs from June 1 to 30, with winning artworks displayed at the Gwanghwamun Information Arts Center in Seoul’s Jongno-gu from August 1 to 8.

Association Chairman Jeon Byung-seong stated, “This contest seeks to inspire individuals to discover and embrace genuine hometown affection, embodying the essence of Korean spirit through practical actions. We hope it serves as a powerful catalyst for positive change.”
