The U.S. State Department plans to issue limited-edition passports featuring President Donald Trump’s portrait inside the front cover starting in July, marking America’s 250th anniversary of independence.
Unique Design Elements
These special passports showcase an engraved image of President Trump’s face alongside gold lettering of his name on the inner front cover. The back cover displays unique patterns inspired by historical motifs, including the submission of the Declaration of Independence draft to the Second Continental Congress. Each passport incorporates distinct designs while preserving standard security features.
Official Confirmation
Tommy Pigott, State Department spokesman, explained that officials specially designed the passports to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary in July. Applicants can obtain them directly from passport agencies without traveling elsewhere.
Broad Commemorative Efforts
Other federal agencies are organizing diverse events for the milestone, such as a UFC event in June and an auto racing championship in Washington, D.C., in August. These initiatives highlight the extensive celebrations planned nationwide.
Treasury Department Initiative
Separately, the U.S. Treasury Department is advancing plans to print President Trump’s signature on newly issued dollar bills for the anniversary. This marks the first inclusion of a sitting president’s signature on currency since U.S. independence.
