Singer Steve Yoo, also known as Yoo Seung-jun, made a deeply emotional appearance at trot icon Tae Jin-ah’s concert, visibly moved to tears during the event.
Heartfelt Concert Moment
During the performance streamed on Jasik’s YouTube channel, Steve Yoo shared profound impressions with the audience. He stated, “If I return to Korea as a disciple of Tae Jin-ah, my life will change forever,” describing it as an “unexpected turnaround no one could have foreseen.”
Tae Jin-ah introduced him warmly, saying, “He’s a singer living in LA,” and added, “I knew Yoo Seung-jun would show up here.” In response, Steve Yoo hugged numerous fans who attended to see him, even collecting 90 dolls tossed into a jar by supporters.
Dignitaries in attendance wiped away tears, while close associates snapped photos with him. One longtime fan expressed lingering anxiety, noting, “I still can’t go back to Korea.” Overwhelmed by the unpredictable turn of events, Steve Yoo shed tears on stage.
Recent Performances and Background
This appearance follows Steve Yoo’s dance concert at the Yamaha Ritz in California last April. The singer debuted in 1997 with the hit “Nanana,” followed by successes like “Come Back” and “Yeoljeong.”
In 2002, he faced controversy after attempting to enter Korea using a U.S. green card, leading to a long-term entry ban and financial struggles. Now holding an F-4 visa as an entertainer, he pursues military service review with authorities while performing abroad.
Despite receiving two major awards previously, restrictions from his LA agency have limited activities. This concert marked his first major stage appearance in years, drawing massive crowds and renewed attention.
