Dr. Heo Chang-hoon Assumes Leadership of Korean Hair Research Society
Dr. Heo Chang-hoon, a distinguished professor from Bundang Seoul National University Hospital’s Dermatology Department, has been appointed as the new president of the Korean Hair Research Society. His term will span two years.

Established in 1998, the Korean Hair Research Society stands as a prominent academic organization dedicated to the study of hair and scalp conditions. The society has been at the forefront of research, education, and treatment related to hair loss and other alopecia-related disorders. Beyond domestic initiatives, including hair loss screening and public awareness campaigns, the society actively engages in international collaborations. As a founding member of the International Federation of Hair Research Societies, it fosters academic exchange and strengthens ties with global experts, contributing significantly to the advancement of hair science worldwide.

Professor Heo Chang-hoon is globally recognized for his expertise in hair science, having accumulated over two decades of specialized experience. His contributions have been instrumental in elevating South Korea’s standing and influence within the international hair research community. His recent role as co-chair of the World Congress of Hair Research, held in Seoul from May 28-31, involved significant planning, financial management, and promotional efforts. This leadership in a major international event, along with his extensive contributions to the field, has led to his current appointment as president.

During his tenure, Professor Heo has outlined several key objectives for the Korean Hair Research Society. These include:
