Part of Broader Happiness Initiative
This initiative falls under KB Kookmin Bank’s flagship KB Kookmin Happiness Project. It supports promising disabled college students by providing economic aid and essential information to ensure secure academic experiences and build future career readiness.
18-Year Legacy of Support
Since 2009, in partnership with Hanwha and Samsung, the bank has operated this program. Over 18 years, it has supplied state-of-the-art notebooks to 132 incoming freshmen, reaching a total of 2,289 recipients. Complementary digital literacy workshops have enhanced participants’ skills through hands-on training and resource integration.
Event Highlights and Participation
The handover drew around 200 attendees, including key students, parents, university presidents, and stakeholders. Activities featured program overviews, laptop distributions, and personal testimonials from beneficiaries.
Bank representatives expressed pride in the effort, stating, “We are delighted that these young disabled students can pursue their studies and futures in a stable setting.” They added, “Even small contributions matter—we commit to ongoing corporate initiatives fostering future leaders’ growth and inclusive finance practices.”
