Culinary Icon Baek Jong-won Resumes YouTube Content, Appearance Sparks Discussion
Renowned culinary expert and entrepreneur Baek Jong-won is set to relaunch his popular content series, ‘Naekkeo Naemeok’ (My Food, My Meal), Season 2, marking his return to camera presence after approximately 1 year and 4 months. A recent upload to the YouTube channel ‘Baek Jong-won PAIK JONG WON’ on the 11th, titled ‘Hong Kong Banjeom Has Started Traveling Nationwide,’ signals this significant comeback.
‘Naekkeo Naemeok’ Season 2 Announcement Signals Content Resumption
This video serves as a harbinger of the channel’s full-scale content production resuming after a substantial hiatus. The announcement confirms the imminent start of ‘Naekkeo Naemeok’ Season 2, one of Baek Jong-won’s flagship projects. A spokesperson for the channel stated, “Even during the channel’s pause, the kitchens never stopped. This is the content and the stories of food and brands that our viewers have been waiting for.” The statement further elaborated, “‘Naekkeo Naemeok 2’ is starting again.”
New Season to Feature Regional Specialties and Brand Stories
The upcoming season is slated to delve into the development process of limited-time menus utilizing regional specialties, offering insights into the stories behind the food and brands. In the accompanying video, Baek Jong-won expressed his enthusiasm, remarking, “I think we need to have an event for the team members to start ‘Naekkeo Naemeok 2.'” He also hinted at the broader scope of the project, stating, “I think we can create an opportunity to promote regional specialties. We are preparing many other regions as well,” suggesting content that will traverse various parts of the country.
Visible Weight Loss Draws Attention and Speculation
Beyond the content announcement, what captured viewers’ attention was Baek Jong-won’s noticeably thinner appearance. His more defined jawline and visibly slimmer face have led to widespread speculation that he may have endured considerable stress during his recent period of controversy and hiatus. Last year, following the listing of Theborn Korea, Baek Jong-won faced numerous allegations and accusations, reportedly over 170 complaints, accusations, and tips from specific civic groups, some YouTubers, and online community users, placing him at the center of public debate. Consequently, he temporarily suspended his broadcasting and YouTube activities in May of last year to take time for reflection and recovery.
Return Confirmed After Allegations Largely Resolved
With most of the related allegations having been dismissed, Theborn Korea officially announced Baek Jong-won’s return to YouTube on the 5th. A company representative stated, “Going forward, the ‘Baek Jong-won’ channel will focus on culinary content, aiming to introduce Korean food culture in an accessible and engaging manner, and to promote Korean cuisine to international audiences.”
