Musinsa Unveils AI Service for Fashion Trend Curation
Musinsa has introduced a new artificial intelligence service, ‘AI Trend Curation,’ designed to analyze global fashion trends and recommend relevant products. This innovative service marks a shift from traditional AI applications in e-commerce, which primarily focused on personalized recommendations based on individual user purchase history or click data.
Beyond Individual Preferences
Unlike previous AI tools that centered on a customer’s explicit purchasing intent, Musinsa’s ‘AI Trend Curation’ leverages AI to analyze fashion and beauty trends occurring outside the platform in real-time. This allows the service to proactively suggest related products, catering to a growing segment of consumers who are exploring new styles and seeking inspiration rather than searching for specific items.
This development addresses the limitations of existing search environments, which are typically designed for shoppers with clear purchase objectives. Musinsa recognized the increasing demand for ‘discovery-oriented consumers’ eager to browse the latest trends and uncover novel aesthetics.
Expanding Horizons
The service has initially been applied to the hat category, with a focus on items like caps and baseball caps, which are seeing a surge in demand as summer approaches. Musinsa plans to expand ‘AI Trend Curation’ to encompass all fashion and beauty categories in the future.
A representative from Musinsa stated, “This is the first step towards a proactive shopping scenario where AI reads the pulse of the market and presents trends.” They added, “This will maximize our Time-to-Market capabilities in responding to rapidly changing trends in real-time.”
AI Integration Accelerates
Musinsa has been actively accelerating its AI-based service development. In January of this year, the company announced recruitment for ‘AI Native’ junior developers. In March, Musinsa partnered with Kakao to launch an AI-powered recommendation service within the KakaoTalk messaging app. Last month, Musinsa enhanced its ‘Infinite Success Engine AI Advertising’ system, enabling customers to become direct models and creators, generating content through AI.
