NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang to Attend Baseball Game as Duasan Bears Aim for Fifth Consecutive Win
The starting lineup for the Duasan Bears has been revealed as the team prepares to face the Kiwoom Heroes in Seoul on June 7th. This marks the final game of a weekend series and a crucial opportunity for the Bears to achieve their first five-game winning streak of the season.
Key Lineup Decisions and Player Movements
Manager Hong Myung-jin has announced the following batting order against Kiwoom’s ace, Raul Alcantara: Jeong Soo-bin (center field), Daz Cameron (right field), Oh Myung-jin (second base), Yang Eui-ji (catcher), Kim Min-seok (designated hitter), Park Chan-ho (shortstop), Park Ji-hoon (third base), Jo Soo-haeng (left field), and Kang Sung-ho (first base). West Benjamin is slated to start as the pitcher.
Notably, Son Ah-seop has been excluded from the starting lineup for the second consecutive game. Kim Min-seok will take on the designated hitter role, while Jo Soo-haeng, who was the hero of a walk-off win two days prior, will play left field. With An Jae-seok also absent from the lineup, Park Ji-hoon will play third base and Kang Sung-ho will be at first base.
Pitcher Performance and Team Standings
Starting pitcher West Benjamin boasts a season record of 3 wins and 3 losses with an earned run average of 2.27 over 8 games. His most recent outing on June 2nd against Hanwha Eagles at Jamsil Stadium was a strong performance, earning him the win after pitching 6 and 1/3 innings without allowing any runs. Benjamin is currently on a three-game winning streak, with his last 21 and 1/3 innings pitched being scoreless.
His previous start against Kiwoom on May 2nd ended in a loss, where he allowed 4 earned runs (3 unearned) in 3 and 2/3 innings. The Duasan Bears are currently in sixth place in the league standings with 29 wins, 2 ties, and 28 losses, riding a four-game winning streak. Kiwoom, on the other hand, has lost four consecutive games and sits in tenth place with 21 wins, 1 tie, and 38 losses. Duasan holds a 5-2 advantage in their season series against Kiwoom.
Special Guest Appearance and Ceremonial First Pitch
The game will feature a ceremonial first pitch by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, who is visiting Korea. In a reciprocal gesture, Park Jeong-won, Chairman of the Duasan Group, will also throw out a pitch. Foreign pitcher Zack Logue will guide Huang during the pitch, and catcher Yang Eui-ji will catch. Approximately 200 NVIDIA executives are expected to attend the game and watch from the first base dugout.
