Lee Jae-myung, leader of South Korea’s main opposition Democratic Party, shared an Instagram photo of his pet dog Barbie sporting a new outfit gifted by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
The Special Instagram Post
The post, uploaded on the 3rd, marks the first public display of the gift. Barbie appears in an ensemble resembling a baby outfit from a prior Instagram update. Lee captioned the image in Korean and Indonesian: “Barbie wearing the outfit gifted by President Prabowo Subianto.”
He tagged President Prabowo’s account and added, “Are the Indonesian Barbies doing well too?” This playful nod references Prabowo’s own pet cat, also named Barbie.
Background on the Gift
During Prabowo’s state visit to South Korea last month, the Indonesian leader presented Lee with several items, including clothing and a collar designed for the pet dog. The gifts highlight local ethnic styles and baby attire, showcasing cultural exchange between the two nations.
Lee’s decision to feature the outfit underscores the warm relations between the leaders, with both sharing affection for pets named Barbie.
