New York Yankees star Aaron Judge smashed a towering home run for the second straight day, boosting his team’s momentum in a crucial matchup against the San Francisco Giants.
Key Moment in Tight Contest
Judge started as the No. 2 hitter and right fielder in Game 3 of the opening three-game series at Oakland Coliseum. With the Yankees leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning, two outs and no runners on base, he stepped up for his third at-bat. Facing the Giants’ rookie pitcher Rice, Judge fouled off the first strike before crushing a low-inside 90 mph cutter on the second pitch. The blast cleared the fence with authority, extending the lead.
Earlier in the game, Judge grounded into a double play at third base in the first inning and struck out swinging in the third.
Impressive Season Stats
Last season, Judge lost the American League home run title to Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh. This year, however, he dominated with a .331 batting average, 53 home runs, 114 RBIs, 137 runs scored, and a 1.144 OPS, securing his third MVP award.
