Leadership Transition at Bilateral Organization
The Korea-Russia Dialogue (KRD) announced new leadership during its regular general assembly on Wednesday in Seoul’s Jung District. Former Eurasia Times President Woo Yun-geun was unanimously appointed as the organization’s new Chairperson of the Coordination Committee.
The appointment ceremony took place at the Korea Press Center, where members endorsed Woo’s nomination through formal proceedings. The KRD simultaneously confirmed the selection of a new Vice Chairperson to complete its executive leadership team.
Strengthening International Ties
Established in 2008 following a bilateral summit between the two nations, the KRD operates as a non-governmental organization dedicated to enhancing cooperation between South Korea and Russia. The group focuses on fostering mutual understanding through cultural exchanges and policy dialogues between government representatives and civilian leaders.
Officials indicate the leadership transition comes as the organization prepares to expand its cross-border economic and educational initiatives. The new chairperson brings extensive experience in Eurasian affairs to the position, having previously led one of the region’s prominent media organizations.
