A senior Korean diplomat has referred to as for worldwide efforts to make sure an efficient implementation of U.N. Safety Council (UNSC) arms embargoes to curb illicit commerce of small arms and light-weight weapons, the overseas ministry stated Wednesday.
Second Vice International Minister Kim Jina made the comment throughout a UNSC assembly on small arms management on the U.N. headquarters in New York, voicing issues over such commerce flows contributing to the unfold of armed violence and transnational crimes, and hindering sustainable improvement.
Kim underscored the necessity to successfully implement UNSC arms embargoes and handle alternatives and challenges arising from new applied sciences.
Following the UNSC session, Kim met with U.N. Deputy Secretary Common Amina J. Mohammed throughout which she harassed efforts to strengthen the U.N.-oriented multilateralism to reply to frequent challenges confronted by the worldwide neighborhood.
