Former professional baseball player Hwang Jae-gyun has voiced a keen interest in making a comeback to the sport after a two-year break. During a preview for his appearance on MBN and Channel S’s ‘Jeon Hyun-moo’s Status Recovery 3,’ he opened up about his aspirations and personal goals.
Strong Desire for Diamond Return
Hwang stated that he wants to return to baseball if the opportunity arises. ‘If I get the chance, I want to go back,’ he said. ‘I want to have children, and above all, I want to play baseball no matter what.’
He elaborated on the challenges and rewards of the game, noting, ‘Baseball is demanding, but I believe I can endure it even as I age. It’s a sport that builds strength. If I start competing, I might not rest properly and will need to balance it with moderate breaks. Just thinking about playing in the majors excites me.’
Personal Reflections and Future Hopes
Hwang expressed a preference for marrying a tall woman. A panelist, responding to his comments about family, remarked, ‘It would be good if he’s tall.’
Hwang married T-ara member Ji-yeon in 2022, but the couple divorced in 2024.
