Lotte Department Store’s Incheon branch launches a bold push to become the first in the capital region’s western area to hit 1 trillion won in annual sales. This move aligns with the debut phase of Lotte Town Incheon, featuring a comprehensive store renewal. The upgraded facility grand opens on May 1.
Renewal Progress and Key Upgrades
The Incheon store kicked off its revitalization in 2023, unveiling the futuristic ‘Food Avenue’ food hall in December. In August 2024, it introduced a 1,200-pyeong experiential premium beauty zone. Recent enhancements include the largest premium kids’ area in Gyeonggi Province’s west, along with revamped women’s fashion and Rocksy fashion sections.
Strong Sales Growth Amid Construction
These changes have driven impressive results. The store posted over 20% sales growth this quarter, ranking among the top performers chain-wide. Last year, annual revenue reached 830 billion won, crossing the 800 billion won threshold for the first time. Despite three years of partial closures due to renovations, 2024 sales surged more than 10% above 2022 pre-renewal levels.
Positioning as Premium Leader
The renewal positions the Incheon store as the third Lotte Town development, blending shopping, culture, and entertainment into a unified complex. Jeong Dong-pil, Incheon store manager, stated, “The store has completed its three-year premium overhaul, setting the stage for ‘next-generation 1 trillion won’ status. By prioritizing customer experiences, it aims to attract repeat visitors and establish itself as a leading premium department store.”
