A clinic in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, operated by Dr. Yang Jae-woong (44), has been ordered to shut down by local health authorities following a patient’s death. The closure came immediately after a three-month business suspension was lifted.
Details of the Shutdown
Health officials from Bucheon City announced that the facility, known as the A Ward clinic, received the permanent closure order on April 1. Staff promptly sealed all treatment rooms and directed patients to nearby alternatives. The clinic also managed refunds for affected individuals during the process.
Opened in July 2010, the clinic faced a 30-day suspension in May 2024 due to violations involving Daiichi Sankyo medications. Out of 30 patients impacted, 17 received full refunds, while investigations continue into five others suspected of involvement.
Prior Violations and Seizure
Authorities seized all operational items by early December, including unclaimed medications and equipment. Despite this, a grace period extended the business until March 31 to allow for an orderly wind-down.
Doctor’s Public Presence
Dr. Yang appeared as a panelist on a national broadcast program and managed a YouTube channel focused on Jeongshin Geon-gang University and full-body topics. He also operated content related to YouTube channels under his wife.
Yang was previously married to former EXID member Hani (An Hee-yeon, 34), but the couple divorced amid recent discord.
