LG Twins secured their second consecutive regular season championship in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) with a commanding 67-55 victory over the Seoul SK Knights at Changwon Gymnasium on March 29.
Austin Yang powered LG with 32 points and 18 rebounds across three quarters, dominating the paint and helping the team overcome SK’s early resistance. LG forward Yoo Ki-sang added 19 points, including crucial three-pointers, while Asem Marey contributed a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds to seal the momentum.
Trailing by three after the first quarter, LG surged ahead with a strong second quarter, outscoring SK 32-27 to lead by five at halftime. The Twins extended their advantage in the second half, relying on sharp shooting from Yang, Marey, and Taemuyo for a runaway win. With this triumph, LG notched their fourth straight victory, reminiscent of their seven-game win streak from 2023.
KCC Egis Overpower Daegu KOGAS Pegasus
In Daegu, Busan KCC Egis defeated the home team KOGAS Pegasus 87-80. Heo Woong led KCC with 31 points, including three three-pointers and six free throws, sparking a crucial comeback.
Heo Hoon, returning from injury, tallied 6 points and 8 rebounds in limited minutes. Despite strong efforts from KOGAS’s Logan Ar (27 points) and Sam J. Joseph Bellarengel (21 points), KCC pulled away in the fourth quarter after leading 64-59, securing the road win with clutch free throws.
KT Sonicboom Edge Samsung Thunders
Suwon KT Sonicboom narrowly beat the Samsung Thunders 83-78, boosting their playoff positioning. Will Leem recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Kim Sun-hyung scored 16 points, including a career milestone of 3,002 points in the KBL—his sixth time reaching 3,000.
