Jang Dong-min voiced strong confidence in the unpredictable nature of MBC’s new survival program Ultimate Mountain during a press showcase in Seoul’s Mapo Sangam-dong on April 28.
Unpredictable Challenges Ahead
“Brain survivals are predictable, but this one defies expectations,” Jang Dong-min stated. The show marks Korea’s first mountain-centric survival series, where celebrities tackle intense missions amid rugged terrains to deliver extraordinary experiences.
Star-Studded Cast
Featuring 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards Best Male winner Yoo Se-yoon, alongside the self-proclaimed ‘losers’ Jang Dong-min, Beom, and Yang Se-hyung, the lineup includes Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and wildcard Heo Kyung-hwan, who brings added variability.
Jang Dong-min highlighted the physical demands: “We endure significant hardships. Has Korea seen challenges like these before? Viewers will witness plenty. It goes beyond laughs—something deeper lingers.”
Real Tension from Nature
Yoo Se-yoon emphasized the authenticity: “Mountain experiences build genuine tension and reality, not just hype. That’s the difference—it’s straightforward and real.” Jang Dong-min agreed, noting how the terrain demands true effort unlike polished studio settings.
GOAT Status in New Territory
As the undisputed champion of brain survival games, Jang Dong-min explained: “With no real competition there, I’ve reached master level. Yet this proves even tougher. Expectations fit neatly in brain games, but here, unpredictable elements with unfamiliar people create fresh excitement.”
Ultimate Mountain premieres May 3 at 6 p.m.
