The South Korean government has introduced a new online platform that enables citizens to directly access policy details and provide feedback on national initiatives.
Direct Access to Policy Progress
Citizens can now monitor government policy content and implementation status in real time, while actively participating in decision-making processes. Officials emphasize that this ‘National Policy Citizen Platform’ delivers accurate updates transparently.
The platform highlights government operations alongside public views on policy trends, fostering two-way communication to incorporate citizen input into future policies.
Comprehensive Policy Coverage
Detailed information spans government principles, five core national goals, 23 key strategies, and 123 specific policy tasks. It includes department-specific annual targets, major projects, policy breakdowns, and post-implementation performance metrics.
Starting after the 2025 government publication, the platform will disclose major projects and detailed policy data. It also features analytical breakdowns of policy outcomes by department and incorporates feedback on supplemental materials from various ministries.
Enhanced Citizen Engagement
Participation rates among citizens have risen significantly. Users can submit direct suggestions on policies through the platform, with related agencies promoting active involvement. A dedicated citizen opinion system, ‘Sotong24,’ streamlines the collection of public feedback.
Accessible via the main portal under sections like ‘Government Policy,’ the platform integrates seamlessly with ministry portals for simplified navigation. It connects with policy briefings, agency homepages, Jeongbu24, and citizen correspondence channels to ensure broad reach and usability.
