Singer Son Dam-bi has joyfully announced the arrival of her first child, a baby boy, just 11 months after tying the knot with actor Lee Kyu-hyuk.
Exciting YouTube Reveal
In a heartwarming YouTube video on her channel ‘Dambi Son’ titled ‘Daddy’s Favorite Baby?! Baby’s Cuteness Goes Live,’ Son Dam-bi shared intimate details of the newborn. The couple welcomed their son via cesarean section, marking a new chapter in their lives.
Proud Parents Share Emotions
Son Dam-bi revealed that the baby, affectionately called Hae-i, is already charming everyone with his outgoing personality. ‘He received confirmation as a second-generation actor,’ she said. ‘It’s even better, so I need more practice for bigger announcements. He’s not shy at all—he smiles and laughs constantly.’
Reflecting on motherhood, she added, ‘If I worry too much, it could affect him, so even when anxious, I hold back and don’t show it. To my husband, this little one is everything—he runs over, scoops him up, and hugs him tight whenever he cries, saying it breaks his heart.’
Navigating New Challenges
Son Dam-bi opened up about unexpected hurdles like breastfeeding during half-asleep moments, which caught her off guard. ‘The baby’s sleep schedule is shorter than expected,’ she explained. ‘He naps so briefly that even dozing off at 6 p.m. feels too short because he’s hungry soon after. Doctors say he should sleep around 7 or 8 p.m., but Hae-i just can’t manage longer stretches yet.’
She admitted feeling nervous from the start, emphasizing the need for patience. ‘Everything feels so straightforward and right. Even positioning him straight for feeds works. He’s not getting enough yet, so we take it easy without rushing.’
Optimistic Outlook
Expressing her heartfelt emotions, Son Dam-bi shared, ‘Hae-i couldn’t sleep more than that, so I’ve been on edge from day one. We hold him upright for breastfeeding without much choice.’ She concluded on a positive note: ‘It’s going to be amazing. He’s gaining weight little by little. I’ll share moments of us meeting him soon. Fighting until then! Hae-i needs to grow steadily, bit by bit.’
