Korea will launch a multipurpose satellite tv for pc, tasked with offering high-resolution imagery for environmental monitoring, from the Guiana House Centre this week, the launch operator stated Monday.
The Korea Multipurpose Satellite tv for pc 7, often called Arirang 7, will elevate off from French Guiana on board the Vega-C rocket operated by France-based Arianespace at 2:21 p.m. Monday (French Guiana time) or 2:21 a.m. Tuesday (Korea time), in line with the European business launch service supplier.
The Arirang 7, which weighs 1,810 kilograms, is scheduled to be deployed into orbit 576 kilometers above Earth about 44 minutes after liftoff.
The satellite tv for pc, outfitted with an ultra-high-resolution electro-optical digicam and an infrared sensor, will present high-quality imagery to watch the surroundings and pure disasters or analyze city warmth islands.
If profitable, it will mark the ninth Korean satellite tv for pc launched by Arianespace.
It’s the fourth satellite tv for pc developed by the Korea Aerospace Analysis Institute.
The Korea AeroSpace Administration plans to announce the results of its communication try with the satellite tv for pc after the launch.
Arianespace moreover plans to launch the Arirang 6 satellite tv for pc within the first half of 2026.
