Far East Broadcasting Firm (FEBC)-Korea commemorated fallen troopers of the 1950-53 Korean Struggle and the seventy fifth anniversary of the Incheon Touchdown Operation with its annual fall live performance at Lotte Live performance Corridor in southern Seoul on Tuesday.
The occasion coincided with U.N. Veterans Worldwide Memorial Day, designated to honor troopers who fought underneath the United Nations flag throughout the battle. Korea has noticed the day since 2007.
The live performance’s lineup featured soprano Jungwon Choi, tenor John Noh, bass-baritone Yoo Myung-heon, the Principally Philharmonic Orchestra and the FEBC Kids’s Choir.
The 100-minute program opened with John Williams’ “Superman” theme tune by the Principally Philharmonic, adopted by Choi and the kids’s choir performing a medley from “The Sound of Music” and the Christian hymns “How Nice Thou Artwork” and “Valuable Lord, Take My Hand.”
Noh then took the stage, transferring the viewers with a solo efficiency of “Grace,” adopted by a duet with Choi of the hymn “Superb Grace” and the Korean people tune “Arirang,” accompanied by pipe musician Byun Woo-rim.
One of many highlights of the night got here when Yoo appeared dressed as U.S. Common Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964), the highest commander throughout the Korean Struggle, performing “Previous Troopers By no means Die,” “The Unattainable Dream” and “My Method.”
“Previous Troopers By no means Die” originated as a parody of a British military tune set to the melody of the gospel tune “Variety Phrases By no means Die.” Common MacArthur famously used the phrase in his 1951 deal with to U.S. Congress. “The Unattainable Dream” is from the 1965 Broadway musical “Man of La Mancha,” whereas “My Method” was popularized by Frank Sinatra.

Yoo additionally sang “The Lord’s Prayer,” a musical setting of the biblical textual content typically cited by MacArthur.
The primary half of the live performance concluded with a U.S. Armed Forces medley carried out by all singers, expressing gratitude to the American troops who aided South Korea throughout the battle.
The second half featured the FEBC Kids’s Choir, whose members from throughout the nation carried out songs together with “From Now On” from the 2017 movie “The Biggest Showman” and “You Elevate Me Up” by Secret Backyard.
