Former South Korean President Moon Jae-in has candidly acknowledged that his administration’s real estate policies marked a major failure.
Revelation During YouTube Interview
Moon made the admission during a recent discussion on the YouTube channel Pyeongsanchaebang TV. Responding to Tak Jun, a former presidential secretary, Moon addressed criticisms of the policy directly.
Tak Jun questioned, “Didn’t the regime commit even one central mistake?” Moon replied, “I’m still pursuing it.”
When Tak observed that numerous errors occurred, Moon concurred, stating, “Even so (there were many mistakes).”
Deepest Regret Highlighted
Tak Jun described real estate as “my deepest regret.” Moon affirmed this view, emphasizing, “That’s correct. We genuinely failed on the real estate policy as much as anywhere else.”
The exchange underscores ongoing reflections on housing market challenges during Moon’s tenure. Tak later posted on Instagram, commending Moon’s “profound reflection and attitude befitting a great nation.”
