YG Entertainment intensifies its hunt for breakthrough K-pop talent through a new global audition. Producers behind Big Bang and Blackpink lead the search for future stars capable of matching their massive success.
Launch of 2026 YG SPECIAL AUDITION: GO! DEBUT
The agency unveiled ‘2026 YG SPECIAL AUDITION: GO! DEBUT’ on its official blog on February 5. This initiative invites aspiring artists to showcase their skills directly to top producers, offering hands-on training and personalized evaluations. Selected participants receive professional training, talent matching, and full artist development to prepare for debut.
Executives emphasize that these recruits aim to deliver fan-engaging performances and concert experiences on par with the agency’s biggest acts.
Yang Hyun-seok’s Direct Involvement
YG chief producer Yang Hyun-seok takes a hands-on role, personally reviewing applications from the initial screening stage. He stated, “As the title ‘SPECIAL AUDITION’ suggests, this edition features major differences from past efforts. Unlike previous auditions, I will directly assess candidates starting from document reviews, driven by a strong commitment to unearthing major rookies to lead Big Bang and Blackpink.”
The agency expands beyond domestic borders, targeting worldwide applicants to bolster its global K-pop pipeline. It strengthens training systems and shortens debut timelines, positioning YG competitively against other top groups.
Application Process and Eligibility
Applications run until February 28 via QR codes on YG’s audition homepage posters and official SNS channels. Open to individuals born between 2007 and 2015, regardless of nationality, candidates submit a one-minute self-introduction video highlighting one strength in vocals, rap, dance, visuals, or keys.
Detailed guidelines appear on the YG audition homepage and public social media for easy access.
