Singer Yong Jun-hyung has severed ties with his agency, citing a staggering 10 billion won penalty demand and ongoing disputes. He announced the nationwide contract termination on Instagram, shedding light on the tensions that led to this decision.
Instagram Revelation Exposes Contract Details
On March 30, Yong Jun-hyung took to Instagram to clarify the full scope of his contract with the agency and related terms. He emphasized that the agreement was framed for public interest rather than personal gain, addressing the situation amid rising concerns.
“The contract document was not a personal matter but aimed at public benefit. I panicked in that context,” he stated. He further noted that the deal lacked personal elements and was intended to leverage public relations effectively.
Prior Termination Announcement Ignored
Back on January 12, Yong Jun-hyung declared the end of his nationwide contract due to related law violations during a special meeting. Despite this, the agency provided no response. “I prepared to sue over the illegal activity suspension and anticipated a direct settlement afterward,” he revealed. “Even better to involve insiders.”
Last Year’s Breakup Fallout
In June last year, he publicly ended his association with the agency’s Black Made label. During album promotions, an agency affiliate reportedly insisted, “Lay off staff and reorganize the label first—no other options exist.” Yet, no such changes occurred, leading to further frustration.
The agency then suggested “taking another look,” only to pivot two months later with “find another company.” Yong Jun-hyung described feeling deceived: “From a company devoid of sincerity or reliability, I accepted money and opportunities, only to feel cheated.”
“This stems from the contract itself—nothing like this happens post-contract,” he added. Venting further, he questioned: “Demand 10 billion as ‘heart money’ and leave? No such people exist. It turns into permanent residency bait via contract. How many sweet potato entanglements? That’s just planting the contract here.”
Career Highlights and Recent Moves
Yong Jun-hyung debuted in 2009 as a rapper and producer with Beast (now Highlight), delivering multiple hits. He parted ways with the group in 2019 to pursue solo work. In October 2024, he married singer Goo Ha-ra.
