Yong Jun-hyung, former Highlight member and husband of singer HyunA, has formally notified his agency of terminating their exclusive contract. The decision stems from ongoing disputes, including a demand for compensation exceeding 1 billion Korean won.
Official Termination Notice
On March 30, Yong Jun-hyung shared a detailed statement on his personal account. He explained that he repeatedly requested corrections for the agency’s prolonged failure to fulfill key contractual obligations. Despite these efforts, the issues remained unresolved over several years, leading to an irreparable breakdown in trust.
“I have notified the termination of the exclusive contract effective March 12, 2026, based on relevant laws,” Yong stated. “No response has been received as of now.”
He emphasized his commitment to lawful compliance until the end and assured fans of independent future activities. “I will present an even better version of myself soon,” he added.
Prior Conflicts with Blackmade
This development follows tensions exposed last June with his agency, Blackmade. During last year’s album release, the company expanded amid donation drives but suddenly pushed for contract termination without conditions, citing the need to reorganize the label.
Yong recounted the frustration: “They suggested restarting donation efforts, but within one or two months, they demanded I leave abruptly.” The agency then sought repayment for funds from an unapproved distributor and unspecified damages, claiming post-contract violations that Yong denies.
“No such violations occurred after signing,” he asserted. “Arbitrarily calculating deep losses and demanding compensation? I cannot accept this. We must fulfill the management duties to the end, but they went silent.”
Yong Jun-hyung married former 4Minute member HyunA in October 2024.
