Seoul prosecutors have indicted a prominent variety show producer without detention on charges of forcible molestation involving a junior female reporter.
Investigation Details
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office filed the indictment on January 24. The producer, known as PD A, faces accusations from reporter B, who recently hosted a new variety program on August 15.
Reporter B lodged a complaint alleging unwanted sexual advances by PD A during a company event.
Prosecutorial Findings
Investigators confirmed instances of sexual harassment but determined they did not meet the criteria for forcible molestation. Authorities declined to seek an arrest warrant, citing low flight risk and sufficient evidence to proceed directly to indictment.
Key evidence includes CCTV footage from the company party room, showing reporter B inviting PD A inside under the pretense of pouring drinks, which prosecutors used to substantiate their assessment.
