President Donald Trump stated that no agreement with Iran is possible without its “unconditional surrender.”
In a post on Truth Social on March 6 (local time), Trump conveyed this message amid ongoing tensions with Iranian representatives. He warned that leaders ignoring international pressure and forcing through policies would face isolation. Pro-Israel supporters, Republican leaders, and key allies committed to peace would intensify efforts to dismantle Iran’s regime from within, he added.
Escalating Economic Pressure
Trump stressed the need to impose even greater economic hardships on Iran to achieve lasting change. “By doing so, we make Iran suffer more, bigger, better, and stronger,” he said. “Iran will meet a great deal.”
He proposed “Make Iran Great Again (MIGA),” a pointed twist on his signature “Make America Great Again (MAGA)” slogan, signaling a hardline approach to reshaping Iran’s leadership.
Recent Military Context
Trump’s remarks underscore his view that Iran must fully capitulate for any comprehensive peace talks. This comes after the United States and Israel launched major airstrikes on Iran on January 28, targeting high-ranking officials. The operation inflicted significant losses on Iran’s leadership, including aides to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other top commanders.
