Prime Minister Kim Min-seok has met with Korean leaders and residents in New York to thank them for his or her contributions to creating South Korea-U.S. relations, his workplace stated Sunday.
Kim has been on a five-day journey to Washington and New York, marking his first U.S. journey since taking workplace in July 2025.
On Friday (native time), Kim met with U.S. Vice President JD Vance and proposed the concept of the U.S. sending a particular envoy to North Korea to fix ties between Washington and Pyongyang.
On Saturday, he held a luncheon assembly with 5 Korean representatives and area people leaders in New York to share the main points of his journey and thank them for serving as a “connecting hyperlink” within the growth of bilateral relations, his workplace stated in a press launch.
The 5 had been New York State representatives Ron Kim and Grace Lee, Mayor of Palisades Park Chong Paul Kim, Mayor of Englewood Cliffs Mark Park and Council of Korean Individuals President Abraham Kim.
The prime minister later held a separate assembly with Korean residents within the New York space and praised their efforts in contributing to the expansion of their motherland, whereas requesting them to play a job for the event of bilateral ties, Kim’s workplace stated.
