Oh Hyun-gyu struck again with a decisive header from a counterattack, extending the lead to 4-2 and ensuring the three points. No further goals followed as Besiktas held firm.
Oh Hyun-gyu’s Milestone Performance
The brace marked Oh Hyun-gyu’s first multi-goal game in Turkey and his 17th of the season. Celebrations were heightened as it came on the eve of his 25th birthday on April 12.
Besiktas coach praised the forward’s impact, noting how the goals solidified the team’s fourth-place standing in the league. Oh has now scored 10 goals in 32 league games this season, including three during a recent hot streak.
His form has surged since entering Europe, with seven goals and two assists in his last 10 outings—his best run yet. Across 42 combined games, he has tallied 17 goals and five assists, positioning him as a key asset for both club and potential national team call-ups.
Despite missing Hong Myung-bo’s recent national team entry, Oh’s consistent output keeps him in contention for South Korea’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers and beyond.
