Oceans and Fisheries Minister Jeon Jae-soo met with a Brazilian parliamentary delegation in Busan on Monday to debate methods to broaden cooperation within the transport and port sectors, the ministry mentioned.
In line with the ministry, Jeon hosted a luncheon assembly with Murilo Galdino, chair of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies’ Particular Committee on Ports, and 16 different delegation members.
In the course of the talks, Jeon launched the competitiveness of Busan Port — the world’s seventh-largest and second-busiest transshipment port — highlighting its transition towards eco-friendly and automatic operations according to international tendencies. He expressed Korea’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with Brazil in maritime and port growth.
The delegation included key figures from Brazil’s port logistics sector, together with lawmakers Artur Oliveira Maia and Daniela Cristina Reiner, in addition to Anderson Fomini Santos, president of the Port Authority. Brazilian Ambassador to Korea Marcia Donner Abreu additionally joined the assembly.
Following the luncheon, the Brazilian officers visited Busan’s North Port and New Port’s Terminal 7 (DGT) to look at its logistics infrastructure and superior operational methods firsthand.
“I warmly welcome the Brazilian delegation’s go to to Korea,” Jeon mentioned. “I hope right now’s assembly will open the door for broader cooperation between the 2 international locations in numerous areas of maritime and port industries.”
