Former baseball standout Kim Young-geun opened up about his profound affection for his wife during a recent appearance on tvN STORY’s ‘Male Secret Vacation.’ He expressed overwhelming joy in their time together, declaring, “Even on Saturdays, I crave more moments with her.”
Kim revealed his wild past but emphasized that his current wife represents his first genuine emotional connection. “I have a wild ego,” he admitted, “but she is the first woman I’ve truly loved. Other flings were mere physical urges I couldn’t escape.” Reflecting on their early days, he added, “Even in my initial marriage, it wasn’t real love, but having our first child made me realize, ‘This is my wife.’ With our eldest and twins urging, ‘Dad, let’s have another baby,’ I knew she would be my only one.”
Cherishing Every Shared Moment
The couple actively nurtures their relationship, with Kim stating, “We open our hearts to each other and share every space.” He shared a lighthearted anecdote: “Even Saturdays bring more heartfelt desire. This feels like a kiss cafe now. Back when I drank heavily, I turned into someone else, wondering, ‘Is this right? Did I wrong my wife?'”
Kim appreciates simple joys: “Seeing the kids once fills me with good feelings. I lack separate time and believe I was born to share life with her. I embrace those moments fully.” He becomes sentimental alone, noting, “Even sleeping apart, I never forget her calling ‘dad.’ Opening my eyes, I check the time and rush to her side to sleep.”
“Every sleep brings the same routine,” he continued. “I love displaying our time together. From my perspective, witnessing life’s varieties like this empowers me—such shared time stands as the most precious.”
Life After Divorce and New Beginnings
Born in 1977, Kim married young and fathered film producer Kim Young-hoon before divorcing in 1996. In 2021, at age 44, he began dating a woman 5 years younger, leading to a child amid initial reluctance. Though hesitant about the pregnancy at first, he now supports his girlfriend post-conflict resolution, registering paternity and aiding in child-rearing.
