In the latest episode of KBS2’s ‘Attic Problem Children Season 2,’ contestants Kim Hee-jung and Park Jin-hee delivered jaw-dropping confessions about their extreme diets during intense drama shoots. The episode, which aired on Monday, drew a nationwide viewership rating of 3.2 percent, securing the top spot among same-time-slot programs.
Daily Raw Cow Liver for Energy
Kim Hee-jung, known for her villainous roles, explained that she consumed raw cow liver every day to power through grueling schedules. “When facing drama deadlines, new muscles don’t emerge just like that—it’s not that simple,” she stated. “Even those who exercise rigorously and lift weights find it daunting.” Her bold revelation immediately captured the MCs’ attention, sparking lively reactions.
Park Jin-hee, who transitioned to lead roles post-debut, upped the shock value by disclosing she ate raw cow liver for a full decade. “It’s only delicious after that,” she insisted, sharing how fans interpreted the habit’s deeper meaning. She recounted mistaking mall padding for food, receiving refunds after complaints, and noting one cow liver’s value at around 2.79 million won.
Frugal Habits and Drama Struggles
Park Jin-hee emphasized her thriftiness: “I don’t splurge on luxury fashion.” When MCs questioned her spending, she replied, “I drink alcohol. In raw liver episodes, men drink the most per cow—up to 100,000 won worth per sip.”
Both stars connected their stories to past dramas like ‘Love and War,’ where Kim Hee-jung landed her first lead role after 17 years. She reflected, “The role drew criticism like ‘Why her?’ and ‘How could she do that?’ But staying put built character, fostering confidence.” For her SBS lead debut, she added, “Fans demanded it. Without high ratings or tips, full scores eluded us—no housewarming without that.”
Panelists, including Kim Sook and Kim Jong-kook, reacted with disbelief: “That’s a deadly habit! Too extreme?” Park Jin-hee shared high school casting woes, persistent doubts, and tearful reflections on unpracticed lines, highlighting the raw challenges of stardom.
The episode airs weekly on Mondays at 8:30 p.m. on KBS 2TV.
