BTS member Jimin opened up about his profound experiences following the group’s high-energy comeback concert at Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square, celebrating the release of their five-track album Arirang.
Jimin’s Weverse Live Insights
During a live session on the Weverse fan platform on March 21, Jimin conveyed deep gratitude to ARMY fans. He noted their safe return home after the event and shared that he personally tuned into the Gwanghwamun performance via Netflix’s Bangtan playlist. “I watched numerous live renditions of the Arirang album tracks,” Jimin revealed, highlighting the thrill of seeing fans embrace even Korean-exclusive songs.
“Witnessing ARMY’s joy over Korean-only content fills me with immense pride and accomplishment,” he added. Jimin emphasized the concert’s authentic vibe, stating, “This show felt just like a real concert, packed with one song’s full emotional delivery. That’s why I poured my heart into preparations.”
Embracing Korean Roots in Music
Jimin reflected on the cultural resonance: “Visitors to Korea admire our nation’s beauty, kindness, and refreshing spirit, so I practiced extensively to capture those exact sentiments.” He also mentioned seeking fan feedback for refinements and feeling renewed by the process.
Addressing the album’s lead Korean-language track ‘Body to Body,’ Jimin reacted enthusiastically to its Seoul showcase in Arirang. “Arirang echoes everywhere, doesn’t it? Koreans turn to it for comfort during boredom or slips, fueling national pride through these sounds,” he explained. Initially puzzled, he soon exclaimed, “Oh!” upon deeper listening.
Album and Concert Highlights
The group unveiled Arirang after three years and nine months on March 20, marking a complete comeback. The fan concert ‘BTS Comeback Live: Arirang’ took place on March 21 at 8 p.m. at Gwanghwamun Square, streamed worldwide via Netflix across 190 countries.
The album features team sincerity, thrill, and bold local emotions. Title track ‘Swim’ headlines 14 total tracks in HYBE’s alternative pop style, showcasing relaxed summer jazz without physical contact. Leader RM crafted lyrics tailored to each member’s life experiences.
Jimin concluded passionately: “Live singing emerged naturally amid expectations. To reach more with sincere preparation, this album resonates widely.” Despite past creative ruts, renewed efforts birthed tracks that fulfill fan anticipation.
