A married man triggered widespread outrage at a singles-only blind date event in China’s Anhui Province after stepping onto the stage while his wife was in the bathroom.
The Shocking Incident
The event took place at a luxury goods direct sales venue, which runs popular open blind date programs on social media. Originally launched in Henan Province, the gathering drew around 50 men eager to participate. The man, who arrived with his wife, seized the moment she stepped away and introduced himself as a 51-year-old single.
He openly admitted to attending similar events in 2012 and noted he has children. Reacting to one female participant, he claimed to be a devoted husband in public but confessed to maintaining private sexual relationships, adding that he still enjoys them.
Flirtatious Advances and Shocked Witnesses
Expressing interest in multiple women, the man stated he wanted to embrace two at once. Witnesses reported initial confusion, believing he arrived with another woman, which led to suspicions of a love triangle. One participant conveyed shock, saying, “He came alone but eyed another woman.”
The mood quickly soured into disgust. A female attendee suspected he was a stalker, prompting him to defend himself: “I don’t fixate on just one person. I’m not decisive either.” The event host emphasized that only singles were permitted, clarifying, “We explicitly stated only unmarried individuals could join.”
The man further insisted the gathering was exclusively for singles and blamed lax oversight, noting, “She just went to the bathroom briefly—can’t you watch for even a moment?” Another observer remarked that the wife returned to witness the changed atmosphere, expressing bewilderment and disappointment.
Netizen Backlash
Online reactions exploded with condemnation. Commenters labeled it “a drama too wild for TV,” “the ultimate trash drama,” and highlighted the women involved as major victims. Many noted even scripted shows couldn’t fabricate such chaos, fueling intense public debate over the man’s brazen actions.
